A+ Mix and Match ends on September 30
The option to mix and match exams referencing the old and new objectives began on November 26, 2003 when the latest upgrades of the two CompTIA A+ exams were released. Since A+ is a two-exam certification, CompTIA wanted to allow sufficient notice to those who had already passed one of the exams. That grace period will end September 30, 2004.
CompTIA urges all A+ candidates who have already passed one of exams – either a 2001 Core Hardware or Operating Systems exam to make the most of the remaining grace period and schedule the remaining exam as soon as possible.
